Hibiscus Petals

A lovely deep wine-red infusion with a tart taste, hibiscus petals are tangy and uplifting. Regular consumption of hibiscus teas often lowers blood pressure and is also the source of the hydroxycitric acid used in many diet formulas. This compound has long been used to fight obesity.

 

Origin: Nile River Delta, Khartoum, Egypt.

Brewing: 2 teaspoons per 16 ounces boiling water. Steep 5 minutes.
